LSD works by adding friction plates and the center core( I don't know what you call it, it should be 2 cone shaped thing, behave kinda like clutch,pinion shaft? ) 2 way and 1.5 way, even 1 way are essentially the same, the stuff in the center( the cone shaped stuff) determine how many ways the LSD is. On mose LSD, it can be changed during overhaul.
I personally have a CUSCO type RS 2 way, and I think in general you want 2 way for FR cars, since they tend to oversteer. The problem with my CUSCO is that with 100% lock up setting it oversteers too much, so much that I wasted my 225 S02s in less than 2 months of street driving. I had to swap the plates around. Right now, I have 65& lock up, and 255 rear tire, my car feels great. I can accelerate outa corner a lot earlier.
