2007 won't "ready" for inspection
Hi all, I see I'm the second one with this question recently but my ECU is stock, no mods except hardwired radar detector and amp/subwoofer.
I had a CEL for bad temp sensor #2. Had a shop solder the wire as they said it was coming apart and the only other remedy would be a new harness. Since then the CEL has gone away.
I dit attempt to get it inspected and it failed, soon after the shop did the work.
I have put about 150 miles on the car and still get the blinking CEL 10 seconds after turning the key on. Is it safe to assume the codes are still "not ready" in this case? Seems like it.
Did some searches here.... I checked and the 7.5A "Backup" fuse is in place. I didn't pull it because then I'd have to drive another 100 miles if it's not blown, and might just drive off a cliff at that point.
I followed the instructions from the manual, drove for an hour today and held steady between 50-60MPG for about 20 minutes in fifth gear, did the warmup procedure as well.
Only other thing i can think of is the shop said my battery when tested showed "Charge and recheck" - probably because i hadn't driven it in over a week at that point. Doesn't cut power when starting up but has been a little slow to crank in the past. Again, If I disconnect the battery to swap it, in I'm for another 100 miles and a trip off the cliff.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated! I need to get this thing inspected/registered so I can sell it!

Did you clear the code before driving those 150 (too much) miles?

So I had the shop that did the failed inspection hook it up to an OBD scanner.
No codes, Evap, O2 and cat all reading "not ready."
Their best advice was to drive it some more. I don't think that's going to help.
At this point, my best course of action is to test/replace the battery and see if that gets me anywhere.
So frustrating!

If the car starts, a new battery will do nothing to ready the monitors. Get yourself a scanner that can see monitors, should not be too expensive. See if monitors complete while driving, then go incomplete during key-off.
Thanks, I heard somewhere a "slow" battery might cause the ECU to reset on startup but not even sure that was s2K related.
I will definitely get a scanner. If the sensors do "ready" during driving and then roll back after key off, what is the next step/remedy? Check the 7.5A backup fuse and possibly one of the underhood fuses? Anything else? If it was only one sensor I'd look at replacing the sensor, but obviously not all 3.
Thanks again for the help!

There is a post under Engine Management somewhere that states everything that you need to do to get it to ready status.
I think it is this one but I am to lazy to read through all the pages
