I think with 9:1 compression. 15 psi will be fine with tunning.

I'm glad you went with the 9:1 compression. I remember you saying you had 8:1 a while back.

Well anyways, $700 for a set is a good price. Good luck.

How do I purchase a set of these pistons? And do you have thicker head gaskets for the S2k?

A thicker head gasket is the cheap and easy way to lower the C/R. But problems can arise like blown head gaskets which make going this route undesirable. So using a lower compression piston is what should be done. It is more costly and more work is involved but is the best way to go. So no a thicker head gasket is not needed.

I guess. Or I could buy a Z06 and get over that stock!
This sounds like a pretty cool deal for someone wanting to build another monster.

How come your not doin a forged piston/rod combo to turn up the boost even higher than 15psi??

Would something like this be a good idea for a Vortech Supercharger with a 12lb-psi pulley? What else would be a good idea to replace for 12psi? Thanks.

Vortech claims that their compressor is good for about 700 hp. To achieve anywhere close to that much power you'd need to have a built block and many other upgrades (clutch, fuel, etc etc.)

Porsche518 - My project is done for the most part. I have run up to 16 psi so far, but plan to go up to 20 psi on pump gas. Actually the only thing holding me back is I haven't played with the boost controller enough to allow me to get more boost out of the turbo (it's already turned all the way to "Max" and it still opens the wastegate)

legendr34 - Evolution Autosports has the specs to make a 9:1 compression piston, you could order from them. But the simple answer is to send a piston to JE and tell them what compression ratio you want.

JoeD - I have a ported head which I expect improves spool time significantly, however I am sure that dropping C/R increases spool up time. Anyways with everything that I am done I can't really even tell you how a lowered compression affected things...
