Thumbs up Ahhh help! Need CEL info

This probably exists somewhere... however, I am posting here to get feedback and info as well as the info.

Situation: Ap1...49,500mi...stock except for cai. The Cel came on today... I dropped by my dealer (I was w/in 2 block... LOL) and had them run the codes... They told me the codes meant there was a mis-fire on cylinder 1 and cylinder 4 and another one for random misfire.

They cleared the code... and said "Cel isn't on after re-start, if it comes back on... you should come in and we will do some diagnostics" Well that was last wed... now today... same thing Cel came on today at lunch... I disconnected the battery to reset the ECU and see if the light re-manifested itself. The cel again didn't come back...for now.

What i need/want: what are the codes that go with this error (I didn't get the #'s...the dealer didn't give them to me--haha even when I asked :-( ) I would also like to know what everyone's recommendation is... wait and see? Take it in now? Don't sweat it? --Thanks

P.S. I am not sure if the 30K or 45K/50K mi maintenance was done, for whatever that is worth... also--is there anything major that... since I don't know if the service was done, that I need to do preventative maintenance?

P.P.S What is the situation with the spark plugs... with misfire... is it hard to change the plugs? What is the normal interval for spark plugs in our cars? Are they hard to replace? And, after that... lets say I was able to pull them out... what would I be looking for? What would show me that they are either ok... or not?

Thanks,

Check out the FAQs for codes/service routines.

Spark plugs shouldn't need changing yet but only take 10 minutes to replace. I'd suggest something more common in the ignition system has failed/is failing. It's not likely that three plugs have failed simultaneously.

next time ask for the P codes.

You may have injector issues since your car is a MY01. Bad gas maybe?

start off with the cheap fixes. Check to see if plugs are loose. If loose take them out and replace them.

Next borrow coilpacks from friends that don't have CEL's. If it pops up again then it's not the packs.

Swap injectors (w/ a friend who's willing to do so)

Change plugs next if plugs were tight from the beginning.
