AMSOIL Engine oil
This has probably been beaten to death...but:
My personal biased opinion is Amsoil, but my friend is an engineering manager at GM, and they tested all the oils, and Mobil 1 came out far ahead of EVERY other synthetic oil. I can't remember the breakdowns, because it was a lot of technical jargon, but that was his expert opinion.

Due to the amount of mile's I drive, (few) I change my motor oil before I reach 3k mile's. The filter itself (PCX 15400-004) is easily good for well over 5k miles. I change out the oil filter every second or third oil change.
Doesnt the owners manual say 7500 mile oil changes and 3700 mile filter changes?

not 100% sure but.

I follow the severe maintainance schedule. 5k is nothing for an oil filter, period.

I guarantee using a Fram instead of the Honda 6023009390c-z-gt doesn't make ANY difference in the performance of my car or the life of my engine!
This guarantee is backed by nothing so if you have proof please entertain me.
I do toss it in the garbage every 3500 miles!

What the heck is the "6023009390c-z-gt" filter anyway?
You should be using the Honda PCX filter with your S2000. And by the way, the PCX filter has been tested extensively against many other filters (including Fram filters - and non-PCX Honda filters) and the PCX is the best filter for the S2000 by far.
Do yourself a favor and read the Oil Journals - the section on filtration will show you what kind of junk you're throwing at your S2000 when you use a Fram.
Bottom line - Fram=Crap - period.
The PCX has multiple advantages over other filters out there beyond filtration (i.e. bypass pressure).
If you want to step over dollars just to pick up a penny, so be it. You'll pay for it in the end. But hey, it's your car - do what you want.
I ordered a case of amsoil full synthetic 10w-30 about a month ago, and changed my oil last night after instaling my springs. I could not get my hands on a Honda PCX filter (didnt have time to wait for it to ship)
So I paid double the cost of the PCX filter and got the K&N Hi flow filter, I felt confident with it after reading the reveiws it received, but $14 dollars for an oil filter is a touch excessive...
WTF am I talking about I paid $90 for 12 qts of oil
....I LOVE MY S2000. I will run amsoil motor oil for the rest of my s2000's life...
Only the best for my baby.

I'm also biased towards Amsoil because of my own personal experience with the oil as well. I became a dealer about six years ago prior to them offering their preferred customer program (program that allows you to get the oil at dealer cost without becoming a dealer for ~$20/yr).
I became a dealer to get the oil as cheaply as possible. I don't sell it as a business, but occasionally pick some up for friends at my cost. I

Well, according to the Helm manual, under normal condition's, the oil filter should be changed every 15k mile's. Under severe condition's, the oil filter should be changed every 7.5k mile's.
I follow the severe maintainance schedule. 5k is nothing for an oil filter, period.

MY01-03
severe conditions- the oil should be changed every 3,750 miles or 6 months, and that the oil filter should be changed with every oil change
Normal conditions- the oil changed every 7,500 miles or 1 yr, and filter changed every 15,000 miles or 1 yr.
and the same for MY01
My bad, I read the manual wrong.
I still think it is totally ok to run an oil filter for 4-5k miles in adverse condition's. I usually change my motor oil within 6-9 month's (very max) regardless of milage. (less than 3.5k that is)
If I have only 2k mile's on my oil after 6 month's, I will change my filter every other oil change. That put's 4k mile's on the oil filter change interval.
When I was breaking my motor in, I changed the oil more frequently than most, but I drove it a little bit more harder than most. The mile's were so low in between change's, I didn't see a need to change out the filter.
Now I change it every 6-9 month's unless I track it, (which I haven't done since last summer) and when I do change the oil, it has less than 3.5k mile's on it.
