Default AP2 MAP connection known to be loose?

Are AP2 MAP sensors known to have connection problems? Not finding much on AP2's needing the zip tie fix.

I have a DBW '06 AP2. I've been chasing hard to pinpoint performance issues for a couple of months. Initially tracked it to a fouled MAP sensor that was gummed up with K&N oil and discovered I had a tear in my intake tube too. Cleaned the old MAP, cleaned the throttle body, and temporarily fixed the torn tube in place for a couple weeks. Zip tied the MAP plug in place. Seemed like the connection sat better. The difference in engine responsiveness was night and day. I forgot the car was fast. Couple weeks later, I replaced the tube, temp sensor, and MAP with new OEM ones for peace of mind. Didn't zip tie the MAP. All good for maybe 3-4 weeks, but the performance was progressively becoming more inconsistent, wheezy, and rougher. Pushed the MAP plug in a bit more last night. Car drove great today.

Dunno if this is a placebo effect and the real problem is still there. I'm going to throw a zip tie on anyway, recheck the torque on the sensor, and see what happens, but if anyone knows whether this is even an issue on the AP2 sensor design, please let me know. I can only find info on AP1s. Need a sanity check.

Use contact cleaner on both sides of the connector contacts. Zip tie can't hurt.

I did spray the connector when I was cleaning the old MAP as well, but I'll probably do that again just in case. Thanks.

Drove around a decent bit last night and today with the zip tie. I can't complain. The performance is more consistent and the car pulls like it should. Shifting is back to normal instead of feeling like heavy jello that changes with the temperature. Start up, idle, and shutting it off are much smoother too.

Honda has a TSB on adding a zip tie to the MAP sensor because of this. Tons of threads on this issue.

I had this same problem and the zip ties resolved the issue.

Yeah, that TSB was what I recalled when I was first messing with my intake and MAP. But it says applies to 00-04 S2000s. I still can't really find if the TSB applies to AP2s with the revised, smaller MAP sensor design or confirmation that others have done this with AP2s. I wonder if that MAP sensor holder would even fit (not that you really need it).

Suppose I can confirm that some 2006 AP2 MAPs can benefit from a zip tie as well for anyone searching in the future. Zip tie seats it about 2mm further in than it naturally wants to sit. The inconsistent performance remains resolved a week in.
