Well, the drive shaft was replaced but another noise was still coming from the differential. So...getting a new one of those, too. Fortunately, the extended warranty is covering the cost. The bucks are adding up.

Progress...differential came in yesterday and tech is working on the car now. Waiting until Mon to pick it up, so my rep can check it out thoroughly.

Yes, strange how things work out, isnt' it? It will be interesting to see if these replacements change how the car feels/handles. Presumably that awful noise and clunking will have gone away. It's been three weeks, so I'm anxious to find out!

I will be that her luck has something to do with the fact that MsPerky is not a "Young Male". Becasue she sure does not look like her can drive the car hard, but many of us know better

Picking up car in awhile. Very happy that warranty company paid the dealer directly rather than my having to pay and be reimbursed. The whole experience worked out well.
