Default Burning Smell

So last night I was driving home doing nothing unusually and I parked in the garage. When I got out of my car I smelt a strong burning scent. Originally I thought it was coming from my garage because it is heated but upon further inspection I noticed it was coming from the rear, more specifically the drivers side of my car. To further clarify I had my mom come down and smell and she said I probably left the e-brake on, but I did not so thats out. Any ideas?....Btw I have a sporadic clicking noise coming from under my center console for a long time now. I took it to honda and they claimed to fix it saying it was a timing chain tensioner. However, it didn't take long before it reappeared. Maybe the cold weather is the source of this problem. Maybe my transmission is F*****..... and just waiting to go. I had the diff replaced in March 08 my cars an 03 with about 60k.

maybe the ebrake on that side is seized, jack up that side, take off the wheel, and try to take off the rotor, if you can't its likely seized....

oh and the e brake should be off when you do this, and you'll have to take off the caliper.

Maybe brake pad is sticking or your clutch is slipping a little bit.

I thought sticky rear calipers were normal? check for excess heat as well as the smell.
