I have an opportunity to buy a 2004 Transmission, which I would like to install in my 2001. I've been told this is no problem and would love to have the slightly lower gearing in the first 4. Mine is on its way out(bearing noises at output shaft speeds getting worse and worse). Can anyone confirm this is a can-do. Any mods required? Are the clutch an PP interchangeable?

Yes it will fit all you need is the Ap1 input flange to mate to the drive shaft.
