Default check engine light please help

so about 3 weeks ago my CEL came on coming down the highway, i freaked of course, i was about 5 min from home and it was driving fine (no misses) so i drove it home.
the next day i took it up to the shop where i work and connected the obdII and it indicated the fuel cap was loose so i checked it and it was a little loose so i tightened it erased the light and problem solved but...
yesterday it came back on!!! so i took it again and i got the same code for the gas cap/system fuel leak (something of the sort)and then air pump!
now my question is do these go hand in hand or do i have to separate problems? how do i fix them?

on the gas cap could it just be cap? is it just not holding any more?
and the air pump, what the best way to fix this? replace it? iv read something about an air pump delete?

thanks in advanced

check the condition of the o-ring on the gas cap. If the o-ring is missing or cracking, it will not seal properly.

Make sure you spin it more than three clicks. These caps tend to throw that code a bit if it's not the OTHER evap code where I believe the purge valve tends to fry.

Air pump should be a separate problem.

for the air pump, you can do a continuity test on the air pump relay which is next to the air pump.

I get that code ocassionally too. I think there is a TSB out there somewhere that has to do with a gas tank filler neck change. Mine isn't annoying me enough to look into that further yet.
