Coil pack fitment/application/info thread
Parts pricing is getting crazy. Injectors are about $300 each for our car. Glad all mine tested well after cleaning!
What makes the 04-05 coil cheap is that it is shared with other cars. Element, CRV, Civic, Accord. While the 00-03 original part number and the 06+ are S2k only.

Here's the fitment info for each:

Mr Matchbox gave me the recommendations for this site (I have used other ones in Japan with good results) and he affirms it is a good company that has a stellar reputation. The reps assured me I am getting OEM Honda labeled parts, brand new. Here is the invoice.
The total of Yen 133,551 equals $858. I paid with a credit card in Yen to avoid bad exchange rates using dollars or PayPal. The Coils are Yen 22,355 which equates to $143.64.
Shipping with DHL is $53 but there is no sales tax which would have been $73 so I am ahead there.
1 JPY = .00643 USD

Don't forget tariffs... I bought and just received an audio mixer from the UK just a few days ago via DHL, and the tariff was dang high at 35% (tariff / item cost) + $17 broker/admin/disbursement fee.
I know UK tariff are supposed to be 10-15%... so idk why they tacked on more tariffs (probably parts/components used in it from China, irdk).
Also got slapped with a tariff for a cheap $5 (+$18 shipping) vinyl record from Japan. Media/informational/educational material are supposed to be exempt; but FedEx still added/slapped on an extra tariff code on top of the clearly duty-free tariff code on the invoice (which is illegal). Cheap tariff $1.05, but the broker fee is $17, making this record too expensive. I disputed it, despite their scare-tactics and extortion attempts of "may receive a $90-150 fee if we are not the cause."

I tested my 4 original coils and the 1 new one with a multimeter.
With the meter set to 2000Ω, I got a reading for each old coil (in no particular order) at 1190, 1190, 1194, 1195. <shrug> They are probably completely fine, seeing as not one of them measured significantly higher.
What's interesting is that the NEW coil measured 1070. Which I guess means less resistance, and therefore bigger spark, and therefore I just modded one of my cylinders? Sweet.

The NGK Nr. U 5099 wich are sold here in Europe have two Ribs = Looks exactly like the 06-09 Modells and meassure 980 Ohm. According to NGK europe Parts catalouge the fit all Modells of S2000. I hav asked NGK about the differences. Lets see if they Answer.
So maybe, per my lengthy speculation post, Honda indeed added resistance to 06-09 coils, for rfi interference with XM radio (and changed them for all markets, even if no XM, just so same parts everywhere).
Maybe, as part of that, they went from 980 ohms to 1250. So that would mean using newer 1250 coils on older cars = weaker, bad idea. But old coils newer cars, nbd if you don't have XM.
So maybe NGK knows this, so to keep their costs down, they just make coils per the older 980 spec, and say they work on all S. That will work perfectly in marketd that don't have XM. In markets that do, still fine except if car actually has XM, but since so rare, not something they care about enough to make coils with 1250 resistors.
