Comptech or Vortech
Hey im about to buy an s2000 i own a jdm shop. I know nothing about them. All i know is i was messing around went to the dealer test drove one and it was awesome. The car isnt as fast 1/4 mile or straightahead as i want it to be. This doesnt matter though because the car handles really well. What i want to know is do i go with comptech or vortec. I want to get the most power possible. I am also considering going with turbo. I was reading revhard is developing a turbo kit for the s2k. When i buy my s2000 ill prob put in the supercharger the same week or in a couple of weeks. Lol forget the breaking in period. Can someone give me dyno charts of force induction.
See the threads below. Some people have gotten about 290-300 whp with the SC and other parts. I have seen turbos go to 320-330 whp quite easily, and even one guy turned up the wick way up and got 400 hp (but I believe at 20 psi !!!).
a turbo generally will produce more power on a 4 cylinder application. But a turbo also generally requires more maintience. I myself would not boost a stock engine, but have the block sleeved and built with forged internals and arp bolts
I believe there is a 2.3 stroker kit for the engine. There are several pro & cons list on turbos vs. SC on the website. In general I have seen 13 flat SC S2000's, & mid 12 turbo applications. In general turbo setups are more complicated, more expensive, but more powerful. It all depends on what you are looking for.

I will be replacing them with clearer sheets once I can get them on a flatbed scanner.
Also, since you are in MD and I am in VA, if you want to go for a spin some time when the weather is nice, let me know.

PS If you go the SC route and you are doing it yourself, I have the Honda tool for holding the crank pulley so you don't need to buy one.
I think i might want to do a turbo kit to be a bit different. Its an expensive car though so i dont want to ruin it with a turbo kit. Its not a 92 civic hatch with a b16. Do you guys know any companies that have kits for them? I'd just stroke the motor out and drop the comp to 9:1. Then run lots of boooooost =). I would need a very good fuel system though. I am going to try to talk to this guy mike from altered atmosphere or inline4. I would love to go for a spin with you. Maybe we'll set up an s2000 meet for the dc area.

We have pretty regular meets in this area when the weather is nice. Watch the mid-atlantic forum.
