Default Question.

Awesome post! The contacts in my S looked just like the ones in your picture. and after cleaning them, they work now when the door opens! But now, the lights wont go on when manually pressing the buttons, and they did before I took it apart. any idea what I may have done to cause this? the switch is in the middle position too.

Remove the two gold screws on each side of the fixture.

There are two small clips at the front of the light to pop off, then the light fixture comes down.

Remove the electrical connector

Take the fixture inside and remove the two gold screws holding the white thing down.

This is what mine looked like. It kinda worked when it wanted to.

Remove the slide switch but BE CAREFUL, it's easy to lose the little ball bearing detent balls.

I cleaned mine up with a brass brush in my Dremel at the lowest speed.

Works great now.

Default Dome Light Issue

Fixed my dome light switch but when i install the left side screw, the lights brighten and can no longer go off/on with door switch. If i leave the screw out, it works perfectly, Any ideas?+

Did this DiY on my ‘03 today. As in the past with my ‘02. Worked with perfect results.

Used fine steel wool and finished off the contacts with WD40.
