Default Drivers window

Unable to do a search of this problem...(s2ki search disabled) I have a 2002, I remember reading many posts about the windows failing to drop down when retracting the convertible top. I know there is a TSB on this issue... I am just now starting to experience this failure. The car is out of the three year warranty...(by a few months, the milage is 25,000)... Wondering what the fix is for this problem? Window regulator? Possibly a micro switch failure...any help would be appreciated...

The regulator needs to be replaced. The pulser inside the regulator that allows for auto-down gets contaminated with grease.

If Honda won't do a "good will" repair for you, the regulator is a costly item. Do a Google search for "Autolok". This is an add-on device that costs about 50 bucks that will fix your problem and also give you auto-UP. Mine went years ago and I've been running the Autolok ever since.

or you can send a PM to emc2 on here who sells them for $25 each (very cheap!) and you will need 3.

Why would I need three? Also a google search for "autolok" comes up with wheel locking systems?

Weird!? As noted, contact EMC2 for these. That's where I got mine.
You only need one unless you want auto up/down for the passenger side too.

I had this same problem until I installed Ricks leather center console and boot for the shifter. During the process you have to unplug the switch the brings our top down. I also cleaned it inside my house while it was off. When I was done with the install, my window was fixed. Try to take it out, clean it, and see what happens. Or just disconnect it and reconnect it and see what happens.

its autoloc, not autolok. you need 3....one for driver door, one for convertible top, and one for under the dash for the unit that controls the passanger door.

as said, PM emc2 for these, they are $25 each from him, the new door modulator unit from the dealer parts dept is $150+.and it only takes a couple of minutes to install them. see:

Not sure why you'd need one for the top. I've only got one for the driver's window. If I wanted the feature for the passenger window, I'd need a second one. My top and both windows work fine with just the one.

i dunno all I can tell you is I ordered 3 from emc2 and followed his install instructions and it works great for me. I tried looking for the website with his instructions but I can't find it in my bookmarks. maybe its in the instructions at home, I kept them in one of the autoloc boxes lol.
