Default Engine light Came On

Need help in getting rid of this light. It came on expectedly last night.
No mod and only have 18k. I just recently changed oil and oil level and well as water are in range. Any suggestions? Is it related to the oxygen sensor and covered under warranty?

Bought gas lately? You probably forgot to tighten the fuel tank cap. Pull the ECM fuse to reset it, and see if symptoms persist. If they do, dump the code. Search on CEL for plenty of info.

cel - check engine light
ecu fuse - if you look on the left side of your driver's side, you'll see a fuse box. to reset the ecu fuse, pull out the fuse in the 3rd slot on the right. that's 3rd slot, not 3rd fuse.

before you reset, however, check yoru gas cap. if it is, in fact, tight, head to autozone and ask them to pull the codes. they'll do it for free. it'll help us here give you an idea of what went wrong.

if i remember ... if the CEL flashes, THEN you're in serious trouble since that's a major error. if it's not flashing and if it sounds fine, a short drive shouldn't make things worse.

yep. the search function on the board here rules. just try a few keywords. if those don't work out, try some others or add some to narrow.

Roadrage:

Thanx for the tip and indeed my gas cap was loose.

Wortham:

Thanx for the solution and the light is now off.
