Thumbs up Engine Misfire

I read some old threads and i did not come up to a point to where my problem has come up yet, or question has been answered.
Things you might want to know:
MY03
65k
very frequent oil changes(all fluids are fresh, al the time)

Now...
I was driving the S down the road and accelerated in second gear right up to 7k to exit the turn and a racecar like manner...booming my loud exhaust down the street. I hear a loud POP and a lack in power occurs...

I let off the gas and the car starts to rumble like a subaru WRX/STI...&feature=related (FIRST 13 seconds)

I go to an advanced auto parts about 1 mile down the road keeping it below 3k rpms. My got crushed as i drove it in agony.

After a compresion test all my cylinders*(last 2 while facing the car) showed 210 and 200...I attempted to finish the test but I then realized my battery needs to be replaced too, no juice, no crank . i was stoked they were in good shape, so then i switched up igintion coils and tested the cylinder and wa la . I asked my buddy how often this happens and he says rarelly... but still occurs even it todays cars.

My basic question to you more knowledgeable fellows is: Can a misfire code: P1399 due maybe from a bad ignition coil do any damage i should worry about? I do sometimes blow out white smoke(coolant leak?) and for sure do some black(I do have a TP though) in "VTAK".

Any help will be helpfull, I just dont want to worry

A misfire can definitely cause you some trouble... If its minor and consistent it could be something as simple as new plugs. It could also be much more so i'd yank the plugs and start there.

White smoke is bad, that means your head has lifted which would result in lower compression numbers. I'm not sure what the average numbers are for s2000's to say if 200-210 is good.

Good luck!

change spark plugs

and i thought 240's to 250 is the normal compression numbers....
but if there all consistent you should be good

If 240-250 is average then the OP has most definitely lifted the head and will need some new head studs + head gasket and I'm guessing 6-10 hours time. I don't suggest attempting this yourself if you have to ask..

Cheers!

200-210 is normal compression.

230 is also normal compression.

Alright thank you guys, i will check my compression again pretty soon. If it is all about 210-220 for all i am good?

I wouldnt open up my own engine even if i had to. Not that skilled at this point of time. Please let me know. If the compression is good and i get some white smoke what could that mean? It only happened once, on the first 1/4 mile i did with the new ignition coil(engine ws still not fully warmed up)...so could that cause it? it idled like s#$t for the first day it was in compared to normal.

No. Only way pressure can get there is from blowby which is regulated by the PCV valve.

It is time for a valve adjustment, get a OEM gasket for it and clean the head surface and you're good.

I still haven't gotten to it. I bought a new valve cover gasket because it has a very minor leak(a drop of oil once a week) and I am doing a valve adjustment at 80k, switching to ap2 retainers at the same time. while I still have 8000miles to go. Would the valve cover gasket leaking have anything to do with a little white smoke only when cold? It does it In first gear sometimes when I first go to drive it to get out of the neighborhood. My compression numbers starting from the front of the car are: 210 210 205 210.
