Default having an engine swap done

i am wondering if anyone is familiar with taking out and installing a new motor....
the guys at the shop had a really hard time taking out the top two transmission bolts to drop the engine... i am switching out with a bare long block.. so all the accessories will be transferred over to the long block... any advice or small details that must be known??

multiple long extension sockets are your friend for those 2 bolts.

make sure your shop has the helm's manual, it's not hard, but make sure when pulling out motor the harnesses are not caught on anything as ur jacking up the motor.

The engine has to be lower on its cradle, then you can access those top tranny bolts with a long extension.

I kindly suggest your shop buy a Manual for the car, It's clearly described how to access the bolts.

There are several more procedures more complicated than bolt removal that will need to be done with a long block replacement, such as properly torquing the cylinder head, adjusting the valves etc. etc. If they have a hard time figuring out how to get 2 bolts out, they might have an even harder time finishing the job properly.

As the others noted the right tool for the job is key ( i.e. deep sockets /extensions) These bolts are also subject to what is known as "heat sieze". Spray with a good penetrator like PB Blaster and then impact the bolt to break it loose. If you just try to loosen them you will have a problem....extensions and all.
