That was my guess as well. Probably used when dropping the motor in.
Our new civic si has one on the top of the engine. When we were leaving the dealer the salesman assured me to come back tomorrow and they will install the missing screw?????
Should have heard tha laughs from the service tech when we told him this.

It even shows it in the Helm manual. You attach the chain with a bolt in here and in another one at the back of the engine to lift it out of the car.
