Clearly the OP was already driving, so he's not one of the types to leave the car idling to warm up (which yes, we all know it's not as good as driving it steadily because it takes longer to warm up), the OP clearly has issue with the fact that he had to use more revs than sensible on a cold engine due to the circumstances.


OP, don't sweat it, the car would limit you much lower if there was any issues with taking the revs that high. Obviously repeated/sustained use of those revs when it's cold would cause premature wear, but doing it once or twice isn't such an issue.

Clearly, my post was written clearly. I referred to the OP's question by stating "to answer OP's question". The rest was referencing other post(S) recommending warming up by idling.

My additional info was...additional....info.

As far as I can see the owner's manual is completely mute on this subject. Just start the car and drive it.
