if you pop open your door, and look at the two cheap metal bars, that open your lock, shake those, they make a sound.. i can't find anything to keep them from making the noise...

i would shake it..and a rattle will appear from all sort of direction. if someone has an idea on how to solve this.. that would be great...

Hello everybody and Merry Xmaw to u all. I think I've seen the mysterious object before. It has a small piece of padding and is used to keep our glass from shaking . Roll down your window and then pry open the sealing rubber things that the glass goes through. Use a flashlight to look through and you'll find 2 arrangments of this things , one is towards the rear of the door. I hope I'm being understood and be of some help here.

With information provided by you guys, especially Chipster, I've located where the piece goes. I used the other door as a reference and guide to figure out the orientation for the piece. I took some pics of the fix.
The first pic is of the driver's door from the outside. The screwdriver is where the piece goes (just under the screwdriver tip, on the outside surface of the window glass).

The 2nd pic is after the inner panel is removed. The plastic needs to be pealed off to expose the access hole. Reach up with the piece and push it in place. The piece has 2 "clips" that hold it there.

The 3rd pic is a shot from the inside of door, looking through the glass and down onto the replaced piece.

The whole thing took about 20 minutes.

xviper; Nice job on the fix. Is there more than one of these "stabilizers" per window, and could you tell if the clips that hold this piece were damaged? Any idea as to why it fell off in the first place? It seems like there are more than a few cars with this problem. Maybe the clips need a little reworking. Hey Honda are you paying attention?

Hey Chipster, thanks a bunch. I would have never figured this out without your input.
As far as I can see, there is only one of this particular type of stabilizer per window. There are others but they are different in shape and attachment and placement. There is 1 hook-like plastic clip on each end of the piece that just pressure fits onto the underside of the "squeegie" thing that rests on the outer glass. They were not damaged. In fact, I do know how mine came off. One day, it snowed in the morning and during the day, the sun melted the snow and the water ran down onto the stabilizer. When the sun went down, the water froze the stabilizer to the window glass. For some dumb reason, I lowered the window that night and the window just pulled the piece down with it. When I got home into my heated garage, the ice melted and the piece just fell off. I think it might be more beneficial if the "squeegie" thing were made to press more firmly onto the glass so that melting ice does not fall down between the glass and door panel at that point. Also, it wouldn't hurt to have a better way to attach the plastic stabilizer more securely as I think in time even in warm climates, it can work itself loose. Perhaps a "detent" or indentation where the clips go in.

I agree ^^ . I think this is my window rattle problem but not sure what I'm looking for without pics.

XVIPER -> Can you post a link again from photobucket or something of the images?

We all would greatly appreciate it.
