Default Invidia testpipe install question

I am installing my testpipe on my s2k and i realize that the testpipe to the header isn't a tight fit is that how its suppose to be ? I don't know if it's completely sealed or not. I am using the factory bolts the one with the spring and it seems like the spring is all the way pushed down already so I can't tighten it anymore, is this the way its suppose to be? Inputs much appreciated thanks.

Do you have the donut gasket in place?

Those springs are as tight as they can go. If you look right before the header theres something like a stopper to keep those nuts from being too tight. I just installed my 70mm test pipe and thought it seemed a bit loose also. I continued my install and just ran it to see if it was giving me any leaks at all and i was fine. As long as you have the right exhaust gasket in there, I'd throw the rest of the exhaust back up and check it out.

im just tripping out because of this thread this guys springs are compressed all the way.

and did you use an impact gun for your install or did you just use a socket wrench ?

this guys spring is compressed all together so i'm just a bit worried, my springs seem a bit loose but i can't tighten it anymore with a socket wrench

Pic looks fine to me, those flanges are supposed to have a little space between them. The donut gasket is what makes the seal.
Reason I asked is I have seen people put the springs between the flanges rather than on the outside of it.

If it is leaking though, get a $40 electric impact gun from Autozone, they are great for this kind of work. Especially removal of rusted/ seized hardware

Mine is the same way and i was wondering the same. I just recently put my cat back on so i could smog my car and realized that the cat sits the same why. I think its designed that way so the whole exhaust system can flex and move without breaking.
