Default Knocking/Clicking when Engine Fan comes on

Hey Guys,

I have an AP1 and it has quite a bit of miles (175k). It has been running great, and pulls strong and has been maintained very very well. I just noticed recently though that as soon as the engine temp gets up, and the fans turn on, there is a knocking/clicking sound, much like a engine that is in dire need of a valve adjustment, only a little louder. I've also noticed that sometimes when I come to a stop, my car has the possibility of bogging out completely and stalling. 80% of the time I come to a stop, the car will safely dip down to 700-800rmps, then settle at 1k. 20% of the time I come to a stop the car will bog down to 200-500rpms and if I dont gas it a little bit, it will stall. I do not know if these two things are related in any way.

1) Is it possible that the knocking could be as simple as a bad fan, that needs to be replaced?

2) Any suggestions on the bogging out issue when coming to an idle?

Thanks alot

Doug
