Maintence Required Light
what does a maintence required light mean when its flashing when you start the car besides oil change and how do u turn it off...

I just had that happen to me and it turned out that my wife doesn't click the gas cap enough when she fills it with gas. When autozone read the codes I found out it had happened 2 times.
I reset the light (by removing the back up fuse) and then gave her a lesson in gas cap etiquette. No more probs.
This is not to say that your prob is gas cap as the . . . . .
Wait forget everything I just said, you said Maintenance Required light not Check Engine light.
Maintenance required light means to exit the car in a calm and energetic manner - IT'S GONNA BLOW!!!!!!

maint light=oil change nothin more
to turn it off turn the key in the first position. while holding the trip button. then turn the key all way continue to hold the the trip button and after about 15 seconds the the Maint. light will go away.

It's so easy...open the owner's manual to the index and look for something like warning indicators.
