My S Whistles Dixie
Actually, not Dixie, but it does make a whistling sound. The noise is in the rear of the vehicle. When gas tank was filled it went away. I'm wondering if I just had my gas cap too loose or something. It could have something to do with gas tank plumbing. No fuel smells or leaks though. My fuel pump has been replaced with the one for the Comptech SC. No problems. Runs great. The SC does make some high pitch sounds in the engine compartment at idle and slightly above - normal.
I won't really know if it was a fuel cap problem till I burn some fuel. I heard it only last weekend and it went away on the fuel fill. The car is a weekender so I may not drive it for a week or two.
Anyone else have a whistling S or any suggestions? Maybe it's coming from the secret storage compartment.

Hi Gary,
I have a comptech SC and i also get a whistle/whine from the rear. It turns out that its the fuel pump making the noise. I'm not entirely sure why it does it or what triggers it but i've been assured by Shad that its normal (he's listened to it) and i dont have anything to worry about. Its pretty easy to verify... just wait until it starts to occur and park the car with the engine running and put your ear near the drivers side rear wheel well. The sound should obviously be coming from there.
