If I waited 20 miles to hit VTEC I would probably hate this car. Thats insane, most of my trips in town are less than that.

You don't take into consideration that oil takes twice as long to get to proper operating temp as coolant.. I suggest a good 20 miles and/or a good oil temp gauge indication before WOT to redline to guarantee proper lubrication, but that's just me..
Another reason to use 0-30 oil.

The outside temperature plays a very big role in your engines oil temperature.
When it's warm outside it only takes 10 mins or so from engine start to reach oil operating temp.
When it's close to freezing point it can take almost twice as long.
I recommend installing an oil gauge to everyone. I always try to keep revs around 3500rpm max when my car is still cold.
Ever since I turbo'd my S, I seem to baby her more when she's not properly warmed up.. when all temps are good it's a different story
