Default Noticed a puff of black some when hitting Vtec

I tried a search on this, but it seems S2KIs search engine didn't want to work correctly.

Today I was out with a friend of mine and he noticed that whenever I'd get on my car the exhaust would shoot out a quick puff of black smoke. After reproducing the problem a few times, we realized it was only when my car hit Vtec that it would happen. Does anybody know what could cause this to happen and how harmful it may be?

It's normal they all do it. The car runs rich at WOT. It's also blowing out built up soot in the exhaust system.

After having much difficulty restoring the shine to the exhaust tips this weekend, I also noticed this Can an AFC-2 be used to lean up the mixture a bit, add a bit of punch, and lean things out a bit in a completly safe (& inexpensive) manner? Much appreciated
