loss of vtec
Ok had standard exhaust wit UK mod when vtec come in the was a very noticeable surge of power and the engine tone changed dramatically, bought a full aftermarket exhaust manifold, decat, and catback. Since I puy the new exhaust on it seems my vtec has almost disappeared, the vtec is hardly noticeable and it feels like slight loss I'm power. I know it's the exhaust that's causing this problem but how do I rectify it (without getting rid of exhaust). The exhaust is almost the same as standard but in the rear boxes it looks like there is too much baffling, the reason I say this is the exhaust is soo quiet that the oem exhaust was louder without the UK mod. When I look down the tail pipes it looks like the baffling fiber is so tightly packed that it's bulging through the baffle mesh!. Would too much baffle cause my power problem? It almost looks like the baffle is choking the gasses? Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks

Can you try the original rear boxes on the aftermarket pipes to see if all cleared? If you think that the replacement boxes are causing a restriction it that or trying open pipes to see if the problem is cured.

I can remove both rear boxes, however I remove just one and although very loud it seemed that the vtec was ok again but can't really drive around with a back box off lol. I mean would anyone advise opening rear boxes and remove some of the baffle packing? Then re weld the boxes back again?

I know I'll get ridiculed for this but the exhaust is a japspeed exhaust and the reason I got it is because I had the stainless manifold and decat already (got them free) I like the look of the rear pipes it has but I didn't honestly think that it would be soo tightly packed of baffle material. Would removing some of this help?, I know it make it louder but to be honest it's soo quiet now anyway that I can afford to be a bit louder anyway. What I'm worried about is the fact that is the baffle causing loss of power I.e too much back pressure causing choaking
