Default NRG hood damper install

I tried but didnt come up with a thread on the actual installation process. My problem is hard to explain so I will try to draw it out. Both the dampers look like this:
(in case you are wondering, {} designates the black adapter plates that attcah to the hood from the underside)

right side:
0o{}
[]
[]
[]
ll
ll
ll
O

They both face the same direction as opposed to being like this:
right side:
0o{}
[]
[]
[]
ll
ll
ll
O

left side:
{}o0
[]

O

In the above picture both of the ball joints on the top are facing the center of the hood. But I cant seem to change the direction of one of the damper no matter how many times I screw and unscrew them. Any pointers?

Ah, I encountered this problem as well and finally figured it out after 20 minutes of screwing and unscrewing the dampers.

Basically what you need to do is compress and "pivot" the dampers with your hands on a soft material like a carpet or on a towel until you can configure the ball joints to fit. Does that make sense?

So the shaft that goes in and out must be turned?

LOL, Trivium. You give so many people grief on this board and now here you are asking for help for something pretty damn stoopid.

Just twist the strut. Might help to work it a bit by pushing it against the ground to warm up the fluid but then it will twist with a little effort.

Boy am I going to remember this the next time you're being a pain in someone elses thread.

Nice ASCII diagram though. However if you use the [CODE] tags you can put spaces in:

[code]left side:
{}o0
