Odd Noise at Idle
My car is an 03 with 42 thousand miles, i have magnaflows in place of the stock mufflers, and an aem intake. At idle my car sometimes makes the noise like the car makes right before its about to die, like when the idle dips very low right after a ecu reset, or in very hot weather. This is odd in this case because the actual idle is not dropping, just making that noise. Any input? Could this be clutch buzz? i dont think so but who knows?
I doubt it's the clutch buzz. That usually happens when you engine brake from about 5000 rpm to 2000 rpm. It doesn't sound anything like the engine shake you get with a dipping idle.
What else is going on at the time? A/C on? Is up to operating temp? Other details?

I didnt think it was clutch buzz but couldnt find any realy good threads describing that. This happens at all operating temps, ive heard it at one bar two and three. It seems more prevelant at 3 bars but i would imagine thats because im in that temp range the most, obviously. Yes the a/c is always on. This sound is a quieter version of the sound generated when the clutch is let out to soon, or a dipping idle.
Is this a constant thing or only intermittently. "Details".
It could be the added load on the engine when the A/C compressor cycles on and off when the pulley clutch locks. It could be a bad A/C compressor pulley. When it does this, lift the hood and have someone hit the A/C button on and off while you listen under the hood. This will be like the pulley clutch working.
