Which oil burns less

Depends on what you mean by easily available. I order via the Amsoil site and get my oil next day. That's easy to me. Even if you want it locally stocked you can definitely find plenty of local distributors unless you're way out in the sticks or something.

I would imagine that if it was my rings I would be experiencing significant power loss, which I am not.
I think I am going to take a chance on Amsoil. Hell, if I cant get Amsoil to not burn in 7-8k miles that would be great.
As always with questions regarding intervals: get a UOA. Intervals aren't one-size-fits-all.

Well yea, I basically mean I cant get it at just any parts store. I am right outside NYC so I know it shouldnt be a problem.
I had ok experience with royal purple, but the Amsoil I run now is better in every regard (including volatility).
On a side note modern dino oil is good for 7500, modern synthetic is good for 10-12, top of the line Amsoil is good for up to 25000 (all of the synthetics are mileage or 1 year) 3000 dino and 7500 syn is an outdated practice that mechanics perpetuate in order to milk more money out of unwitting customers.

Also I am interested in what intervals people change their oil at. I run synthetic which I believe is good till way over 3000k. More then likely 5-7k. But since my oil will not last that long should I replace it every 3 instead? I am curious what you guys do.

Anyone know if Amsoil is related to Amway? The marketing of this product seems to be identical.
Back to subject- Since all synthetic oils are good for much longer than the recommended 5k that Honda uses as a guidline on the maintanance minder, use any synthetic and follow the MM for complete peace of mind and make use of this feature that you have on your S2000. This makes ongoing UOA's unnecessary and obliterates that expense and inconvience. Racers may dissagree, but for average owners who do maintance on a regular basis, this is totally unnecessary.

I used to have high consumption with Mobil1 full syn. Swapped to Mobil1 Extended Full Syn, No difference.
I'm using Amsoil 10-30w and consuption is very low. I'm happy.
I live in the caribbean, very hot weather and low altitude driving.

I've found that Mobil 1 synthetic burns the fastest in my car. I'm currently on Castrol GTX High Mileage and it burns at a much slower rate.
These are both with the factory recommended 10w-30

My experience is that Mobil1 burns the most. I'm using Castrol Edge Ti now, and usage is only slightly better. I make very strong power and torque, so I think my rings are fine. My money is on the valve guides or the crank ventilation. I've recently done a vent as I'm supercharged, and the vacuum at the impeller is strong. I notice after a week my pipes are still clean, so it seems consumption has dropped. The blower may be leaking oil by its seals; 10w40 is recommended with those, though I'm still on 10w30.

On a side note. Anyone running an AP2 valve cover? I read somewhere on the forums that the AP2 PCV system is alot better and using an AP2 valve cover helps. Just wondering. Thanks for the comments so far.

Years ago, new car recomends were to change the filter every other oil change. I doubt that many people followed this OEM rule and actually did change the filter with every oil change. Filters have always been cheap.
