Thumbs up Partial HydroLock

Hi. It was raining down here in SoCal yesterday morning and I drove to work. My car is an 00 w/107K miles. I just got my valves adjusted on Saturday and the car ran great before the rain came. I drove in the rain for about 20 mins. under 4K RPM. Now during acceleration, my car will bog, struggle and won't let me into VTEC. I checked my oil level, which is still good. I warmed my car up to 3 bars before I drove it, so I know that is not the cause. What do you think I should do?

do u have a cold air intake? did u drive through any large puddles?

if u think its partial hydrolock, then dont drive it anymore. drain the oil and see if there is any water in it.

hydrolock is when the motor is completely seized, people use the term too way too often now a day.

where did you get the valve adjusted from? just to let you know, the s2k valve lash runs on the tighter side, i did over 20+ valve lash(now 3 w/ s2k) before i tried on mine and to my surprise, i have to redo it again because it was too loose.

like i said, have someone check it out for you that done it on s2k before, B/H/F(accord) series felt different than f from s2k

I got my valve adjusted from SUPERTECH. Highly recommened from the SoCal forum since he is a mechanic for Honda. I'm sure you've heard his name come up a few times.

Just spoke to SUPERTECH, I might have to change my filter because it could've been soaked from the rain and it's not getting the proper flow. I'll dry it out tonight when I get home from work. I'll keep you guys updated with the situation.

That was going to be my suggestion. A bunch of people have had issues with the CAI filter getting wet and bogging. This is also prone to happen when parked outside in a heavy rain as the water will drip right onto the filter element from the drain hold on the passenger side water channel. Search the forums, some people have created drip shields for their CAI, or another solution I believe was to plug the hole.
