as it so happens, I've already done it. The car cuts out around the VTEC level so it's obviously designed to do that.

I'm going to be more careful in the future. I'm sure it is not good for the car to do that!

I'm not even sure that the elevated revs around 6000 rpm are good for a not yet warm engine.
