Default s2000 restriction

Is there any restriction on the S2000? I have an AP1 and sometimes it cuts off before I even hit 7500 rpm. Is there something i can do about this?

I have only had my S2000 for a couple months and I rarely get on her but when I do it cuts out on me. help please.

if the car hasnt warmed up properly the ECU will restrict the motors revs and not allow VTEC to protect the engine from damage

Must show 3 bars on the temp gauge before the car will allow you to hit vtec, otherwise you will hit a rev limiter at around 6500k.

Like you I have learned this the hard way, pulled into a gas station and took just long enough for it to cool down to 2 bars. Merging into fast moving traffic = me freaking out about what happened until I got a chance to think about it. Feels like you hit a brick wall.

Temp as mentioned above. Also check your oil level.

Thanks for the feedback. Now that i think about it i am sure i did not have 3 bars. Luckily for me this only happened twice and will never happen again.

Map sensor, oil level, temperature are the first three areas to explore
