Default Secondary Air Injection Pump P0410 - Delete - Issues

A while back I received a CEL and code P0410. I pulled the bumper for easy troubleshooting. The fan housing on the pump was destroyed. I decided to order the delta Lima kit instead of cutting into the ecu harness with the Izzy kit. I removed everything according to delta Lima instructions and everything went well (other than the hard pipe being a huge pain to get out.) I stall the resistor and turn on the car and CEL P0410. Pull the backup fuse let car cool down, try again and P0410 is pending turn car off and back on and the P0410 is stored.

Every since I received the CEL and P0410 I noticed upon starting the car in the cold state I would hear a loud CLICK followed by another CLICK about 30 seconds later. As I was troubleshooting I noticed with the codes cleared and starting the car on the first CLICK P0410 is pending and on the second CLICK the code is now stored.

I have tested almost everything I can think of. Wiring looks good. 60A fuse looks good. Sensor / whatever behind drivers front wheel in fender appears to work. Has conductivity and does not appear to be open. The connector to where the pump use to be has the resistor installed.

So do I need to replace what I assume is the denso solenoid located in the same area as the air pump? I’m completely at a loss.

If you got an US car then you need the Izze kit, the simple resistor trick only works on euro cars.

Weird. I’m in direct communication with Daan from Detla Lima Engineering and he claims it work on US car without issue and told me to look at the SAI solenoid / relay and to test with a known good one.

link to kit that I purchased that states it works on US models.

-Works on all S2000 years: 1999 - 2009
-Works on all models: Ap1, Ap2, CR, Type S, ultimate, GT 100, etc

Weird indeed, I would have thought he should know that.
You can check with izze to confirm it though, I'm sure they will tell you the same thing.

hello, I just want to respond. Try not to spread miscommunication. My kit works on all years of construction and all models worldwide, so also usa models.

The kit has been sold since 2012 and there are hundreds of American s2000's driving with my kit without any problems. You can check they ebay feedback for the sales

I think Jeff's problem is somewhere else. It can be the air pump relay, fuse, wiring, or vacuum solenoid. The system consists of many parts.

I will do my best to help Jeff from overseas.

So all these years the US cars could just get away with a 12 ohm resistor as well and no need for a fairly complicated circuit?
Think I've read an explanation on why a resistor wouldn't work on US cars, this could be something https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-un...esistor-628731

If you think about it, it SHOULD work. The 2nd air pump (or any motor) is basically a big resistor. Instead of spinning or pumping air, the resistor just giving off heat.

Yes that is how it works on euro cars, but US cars has more complicated check which should be clear if you read the threads posted above.
