Soft top stops going down

Default Soft top stops going down

Soft top on my 2002 goes down most of the way stops and then i here a pop and it goes on down, lubed a pivit points, looked at the motor drive gears and see to problem there, any ideas would that would help.

Search for Modifry's strap kit - replaces the elastic straps that cause the top to fold correctly.

You can also push the bar back as the top goes back. Look at the little bar in the middle of the top that can be moved freely by hand when the top is loose. That bar needs to be pushed to the rear of the car for the top to open properly. You will also notice the top goes down farther when it's back.

Thanks i will try that car is not used much and top in grat condtion for age, seems like it does stay forward on the way down, top does not sit high when its down, but i guess it might be the elastic straps.

this is what worked for me and was clear indication that new straps are needed......
