May have found my issue. I seem to be missing a part at least according to that post. The "connector for wire". That post shows 6 total pieces, I have 5 pieces.

Yep. Figured it out. On the driver side button the cable has somehow came disconnected from the button and fallen somewhere inside the cars door jam area. So now I understand why the light isnt coming on because there is no cable connected to my button on the driver side (I took the passenger side off to check and that one has a cable connected to it.

Now I have to somehow try and fish in my car to see if I can locate the cable and reconnect it. I have a feeling I won't be able to locate it, it may be gone forever in the depths of the car.

I think I may need to remove the inside plastic panels behind the driver seat to get to that area and locate the wire. Or I could try using a metal hanger straightened and try and fish it out through the button hole.

Remove the two coat hangar hooks behind the driver seat on the vent panel, pull from the bottom and the panel pops out

remove the screw from the b pilar panel down by the seatbelt

pull the door sill, then pull the b pilar plastic.

you can access wires now.

should take less than 4 minutes to get this all removed...

I went back out to try and take apart the interior pieces

Anyways, I peaked inside the hole and see this

I guess it didn't fall down but luckily was still barely hanging in there. So I used needle nose plyers and pulled it out and reconnected it and added some electrical tape so it wont slip out again

And vola I now have light!

Now to get some LED bulbs, I tried Autozone, Oreileys, Advanced Auto, Walmart and nobody has bulbs small enough. I guess I'll need to order online. The ones they pulled up on their computer were at least twice the size of the OEM bulbs no way those will fit.
