Steering Issue at Start-up
I could use some help on this.
Little Background - ("Mostly" Garaged kept) 2004 (AP2) 126K Florida miles, typical mods (Eibach springs, intake, etc) nothing serious, no accidents... Steering wheel/airbag was stolen @ 50k (long time ago). Car was a daily driver for 4 1/2 years till this past November when I got a company vehicle. Car is currently garaged for the occasional weekend day/evening, meets, shows, etc (Typical 3rd Car Activities)
Recently when starting the car (ever since becoming the weekender), the steering feels all out of whack when pulling out of the garage (feels like it's sticking and adjusting, sticking and adjusts again, kinda feels like I'm fighting with the steering wheel) and then returns to normal as soon as I drive down the driveway/street, steering even feels normal if I start up later in the day. I don't drive it all that often, maybe 1K miles this year. (Use to do at least 500-600 miles a week!). I originally chalked it up to the car just not be driven enough and thinking it was some electronic re-programming issue at start-up if that makes sense. But just wanted to know if those who put their cars away for the winter (for those who have an actual winter) have similar problems or if anyone has heard of this before. Just worried in the event the steering wheel does this while driving, etc.
Surely could use some guidance! Thanks!
