Default Tall Driver's Competition Seat

Here's a link to the light weight Corbeau Monza (10.5 lbs). There is also a link with the seat dimensions. I believe this is the widest, lowest seat possible. Swift Motoring in Jupiter just put them in their 911 and, by bending the side mounts, they got the seat another 2" lower. The 20.5" bottom width will fit, the 21" sholder will fit, the only question will be if there's enough room for a side mount. This seat will comfortably accomodate those with a 36/38" waist and has minimum bottom padding to allow a lower seating position. Those of you who are 6 foot or less could use the bottom mount without a problem. I have to wait until my car has a steering rack again to get it up to Jupiter for a fitting. Opinions?

Interesting seat. As you know, I'm looking for a lower seating position too, but one of my main priorities is that the seat is easy to get in and out of. I have my eyes on the Sparco Roadster, and am anxiously awaiting the development of the Bulletproof Designs seat rails.

Let me know if you head up to Jupiter - for those living in S. Florida, extraterrestrial travel is not difficult, Venus isn't too far of a drive either .

So the big question is: Does it fit into the s2000 with the side mounts. What are the side mounts for? Is that the part of the bucket that hold your legs in place?

Anyway, very interesting. I'm deffinately insterested as the S1 Mugen seat does not accomodate big (6' +) at all.

There are 2 types of seat mounting hardware, bottom and side. The bottom mount obviously uses space under the seat and thus causes the seat to sit higher. Side mounting brackets allow the seat's base to sit on the floor and thus allow a lower seating position, often 2" difference.

I've done a little bit research on the forum and it looks no one has installed the Sparco Roadster seat yet. It seems like this seat will not fit in the S2000 because the shoulder area is too wide which interferes with the door. So, here are my questions about this seat and, hopefully, someone out there know the answers:

1. Should area needs modification. How extensive is this mod?
2. Are there brackets for the S2000? It does not appear to be. Maybe bulletproofautomotive.com will have one soon?
3. Stock seat belt buckle? Where does it go? The seat or the seat bracket (rail)?

I really like this seat, especially the way it looks. I'm just not quite ready to sink $1,250 for the Mugen S1.

Thanks,

/Rog

Spider - According to the dimensions from the Sparco website, the Roadster seat SHOULD fit in the S2000. I am not aware of anyone that has confirmed this, however. As soon as Ben is finished developing the seat rails, I will try one out.

I e-mailed Ben before he went on vacation and he told me it'd still take another month or two for the development of the custom seat rails.
