i got my s last september. about 15 days after i bought it i got some cold start valve tapping. no problem i thought, just change the oil. 5 1/2 quarts of mobile one, np. 1500 miles later the tapping comes back, check the oil, hey its half a star down. np, just top it off. 200 miles later tapping is back. np change oil. now then the tapping wont quit after 1500, now its moved up to 1300 miles a change. i have change the oil 5 times since i got it late last year. the part i left out of the story that is what pisses me off is i told honda about it, they blamed it on the oil filter. i was so pissed i just walked out. well tomorrow im going over there and im gonna raise hell. there is a stipulation in the warranty that says adjustment of the valves to raise compression is not honored, well i hope they dont call this "repair" an adjustment or im calling a lawyer. i have been dreaming of this car since the moment i saw it, she is NOT gonna die on me. if honda turns me down ill rebuild the head myself, screw the warranty, if they wont respect my request to check the valves then what good is the warranty really? any suggestions? stories like mine? ideas? good head rebuild kits or a place to find them? i need help asap. she is parked right now i have a beater till i fix her up

Sounds like it needs a valve adjustment.

did some more research. according to what i collected its the tct. also i sounds identical to a couple recordings of that noise i just heard. but the valve adjustment does sound applicable also, ill do a little more research
