Default Testpipe rattle agianst heat shield help

i recently installed a testpipe in my S2. my buddy and i installed it correctly. but as i drive it, thats when it rattles. when i deaccelerate and as my RPM drops to 4,000 thats when i guess the engines vibrates the most and the vibration travels down the header to the test pipe and it rattles agianst a heat shield right above the passenger side. (it only rattles between 3,900rpm - 4,100rpm) i was thinking exhaust wraps, but its exspensive!!! do you guys have any other better ideas besides removing the heat shield?

thanks

That's weird, as most test pipes dont really have a heat shield.. other than the T1R ones.

Are you sure its not just possibly the clutch deceleration buzz you are hearing? Perhaps its more apparent after you removed the cat?

Search for my post on solving the T1R rattling. I don't feel like re-explaining how I did it (not trying to be rude eithor, I'm just lazy)

It'll solve the rattling problem

I'd used a spray on sound deadener to coat the inside of the oem cat heatshield, that did the trick without having to worry about using silcone or other types of gaskets. The inside is black from the sound deadening spray but the outside is perfect, you don't have to spray the whole underside but maybe just where both the top and bottom heatshield sandwiches together. I also have the T1R test pipe , hope this helps.
