Default Transmission pops out of second gear

My transmission is poping out of second gear when in a corner if I am not accelerating. This usually happens after a downshift, but not always

This does not happen frequently, but when it does it can be very unerving and may cause and accident.

Has anyone else had this problem?

(2005, with just under 9000 on the odometer, car never abused)

This has been reported lots here. Take it back and get them to fix it.

Not specifically. But I do believe they have to pull the tranny and open it up.

I've had very similar problem on my 04 since new.

I finally found a Honda dealer who was willing to investigate the issue for me. They found a Canadian TSB for popping out of second gear under two circumstances; 1) high rpm deceleration, 2) 1st to 2nd gear change while clutch is engaging

They are going to repair under warranty for me next monday. It is an 8 hour job.

I just had this exact problem fixed under warranty last week. I also have a 2005 model.

2nd gear will intermittently pop out under deceleration. I can replicate this at will and even made a video of it popping out. I demonstrated this to the dealer (Honda World of Westmister) and they fixed it under warranty. The Technical Service Bulletin for it is TSB-05-009. They need to disassemble your transmission and replace the 2nd gear set. For me, they also replaced the 3rd gear synchro and replaced the transmission oil seal.

The whole procedure took 5 days since they had to order some extra parts once they had the transmission opened up.

Here's the TSB for it.

You might want to print it out and take it with you to the dealership.

Good luck.

Thanks everyone.

This will be tremendously helpful in approaching the dealer to get this fixed.
