I just received my Helm's manual today for my '06. I cannot believe how many parts and systems are different on the '06 -- not just the DBW throttle and advanced airbags. It seems like every page has something unique to the '06. Many systems now interface with the ECU for expanded DTC's, but it also appears that these may not be accessible with aftermarket code readers. Here are a few examples.

- Ignition key circuit is a relay device rather than a simple switch: immmobilizer is a Type IV vs Type II for 00-05: no more taped keys. The immobolizer module itself uses a rolling security code -- the security code no longer resides in the ECU. Wonder if that ends the AP1 AP2 swaps?

- ECU is flash programmable

- Differential has a breather catch box.

- Two coolant temp sensors - one on the engine, one at the bottom of the radiator. Radiator sensor now interfaces with ECU to control fan and to fine tune coolant information - no direct coolant fan switch.

- DBW eliminates idle air valve, secondary air injection, cruise control module and motor

- Added Intake Air Temperature sensor and Absolute Pressure sensor (in addition to MAP sensor)

- Airbags have two impact sensors in front bumper

- Upstream O2 sensor replaced with true Air/fuel ratio sensor

The list goes on

I know for a fact that the IAT sensor is gonna be a hassle for people who add intakes. Those sensors sometimes have to be relocated, and get mixed readings when doing so. Thus setting off CEL's.

well, only reason I know is from owning 3 Honda's and the same thing happening. Usually happens when it's really hot and muggy outside.

This thread may get merged with the others, as there's a few topics just like it. But you may have listed one new thing or two

merging isn't workin at the moment, so I'm going to lock this and then merge it with the sticky at the top once I can.

just about everything you posted was already covered in that other thread.

Which is why I am waiting for AEM to come out with a V2 specifically for the MY06.

Has anyone switched out their exhaust/header yet on an 06 to an aftermarket one?

Any changes in this regard?

Yes, I have switched out my exhaust. I got the Invidia exhaust and there was a conflict with the b-pipe. The exhaust channel on the MY06 is completely straight. The Invidia b-pipe had a couple of bends in it, and one of the bends hit the undercarriage. I had a fabricator modify the b-pipe so that it would not hit anything.

Concerning the header, don't know for sure. I ordered a Toda RH so I'll let you know.
