i know what a valve adjustment is....but explaining it would be a lil tough.
I know when i had honda do it earlier in the year it cost me around 150-200 i believe? mostly labor time.
But make sure you tell them to keep the car for a while.

They adjusted mine withing 3 hours after drving it to the dealership, in which case, means they did it while it was still warm. which isnt good.

So i had them keep my ccar over night(and to their disbelief) the chatter i heard under the hood, yet again was valves out of adjustment....
But this time they took the blame and gave me a free valve adjustment, so thats nice hah

Ok so I completed the valve adjustment and the sound remains. And for the last hour i've been letting my car idle so i could try to pinpoint where the tick is coming from...the ole screwdriver handle to the ear trick doesn't give me any sound from the head...but when i put it near the injectors i get the same sound...wth? can an injector go bad and make a ticking sound?

so i just went and picked up a stethoscope and started probing around the head and block while tipping the throttle...to my surprise i hear nothing like the ticking that's going on...so i start touching other random things under the hood and all of the sudden i touch the second air valve assembly just on the backside of the fuel rail and BAM! there it is the ticking is unbelievably obvious. Now do you all think that its just reverb from somewhere else or could an air valve make that much noise? remember I probed along the entire head front to back side to side and even the block under the car to no prevail. This is really getting to be a full on snipe hunt.

any ideas?

I honestly think that your car just sounds like any other cars. Just little valve noisy.

What weights on RP? Maybe try back to mobil 1? Or heavier oil?

I understand that s2000's are noisey but in the year and a half that Ive owned my car its never made this noise. It just started last week one morning. I used 10w30 royal purple this last oil changed but that was 1000 miles ago with weekly checks and the occasional topping off if it was halfway between H & L. I took off that air valve and am in the process of opening it up...the screws are stubborn and are soaking in penetrant oil rght now...oh well id rather do all the cheap trys I can before spending the money on internal motorwork. If this doesn't work I'll post another video with the stethoscope hooked into the microphone somehow.
