Put a tap in a vise, and thread the knob on to the tap. (8x1.25 I believe) Turn the knob untill the shift pattern lines up, you'll be cutting just a small section of threads.
I dont really know what a tap is.....Hmm..

I think I might just use that 2 drops of loctite you guys recommended

Should I apply it to the inside of the knob itself--or the shifter threads itself??

Thanks Boooyz

FYI, it is M10x1.50

Also we have published an installation guide and loctite blue is the key.

Thanks for the correction on the threads, I was going by memory. The threads on my old engraved knob where not cut to the bottom of the drilled hole. Adding about 90deg of threads made the pattern line up perfect.

not to hijack the thread but i am fed up with antenna thefts, if i douse it with red locktite will that mean i will never be able to take off the antenna again? or will it just be harder?

also, is there ever a reason to take of the antenna? only reason i was doing it was to prevent theft..

If you put to much loctite then one it probably wont come off and two it may cause a bad connection for the metal so it may end up not doing anything for your reception. (in theory)

Red locktite is basically permanent. If you need to do body work on that rear quarter, you will not be able to remove the antenna mount.
