Hey, guys

Not sure if anyone else has come across this noise when starting up.. it used to happen around 25% of the time i started, but has now gotten to about 50% of the time i start it. it starts fine but makes a weird scratching noise right after for a split second as you can hear in the video:

It runs fine and the noise is never to come back whilst driving or idling. only during start-up briefly.

any help is appreciated.

 

Welcome to the club. It's an issue w/some but won't damage anything. It's covered here extensively. Search for 'starter sticking'

 

It's a nuisance item. No damage to flywheel or starter.

Thanks for responses. As long as it's not hurting anything I will just take it as my cars scream of joy to be driven

 

Mine does the same thing. It is probably caused by you or the previous owner hitting the starter button while the car was running.
