Default what do you guys think happened?

well i had 2nd gear pop out on me and so i took it to honda for warranty work on it. They did order a new 2nd gear gear set and installed it, but when they test drove it, it would go into 1-4 but not into 5th. Prior to the work, all gears went in fine smoothly except for 1-2 which was notchy and 2nd popped out around corners. Well they don't know what's wrong so they opted to get me a brand new tranny, I assume fully assembled already, and put it in. I'd probably have to break it in, would i not, assuming it was a fully assembled brand new tranny?? Oh and why won't 5th gear engage or even go in when it was okay before? I told my brother I don't think it was the tranny but just the tech that screwed the install up but I'm not exactly sure.

I'm fine with the new tranny replacement, but just wanted to know why it had to be done, that's all.

Oh and they gave me a rental car, Ford Taurus, but i returned it right away to them after getting it from their contractor because I didn't like it. I was expecting a Honda for a Honda. Maybe they'll call back and offer me one of their cars.

They didn't put the trans back together correctly, and decided that they probably couldn't do it right on the 2nd try, so they got you a new one.

I'd be surprised if they actually get a new trans. The last time I checked AHM's techline has to release trans assemblies to the dealer before they are shipped.

hey thanks for replying, i kinda figured it wasn't my tranny that was bad, but more of the tech that did something wrong. But I'm just saying whatever they said to me, Brand New Tranny so we'll see. Is their such things as remanufactured/rebuilt trannies for the s2k?

The only way they are listed in the parts catalog is a new assembly, or the individual parts inside.
