It has been in the high 50s in the mornings here and only got into the 70s yesterday. Today will be a little warmer. Loving the sunshine.

Summer does not want to leave here in the west. Was down in San Luis Obispo over the weekend (Pismo Beach really) for a wedding and SLO was 101. Got home to high 90s. Hey Mother Nature, it's October. Tired of it already. (no A/C in the house) We need rain.

Predictions are for heavy precip this winter in CA and the Eastern part of the US from El Nino. The only question is whether it will be rain or snow.

Yeah, the heat is just not letting up! I was in Palm Springs for NSXPO over the past weekend and it was 102*. Okay. I expect that in the desert but it was over 100* at my home in Lake Forest, too. The lows have been in the mid 70s. The humidity is very high. El Nino is warm water off the coast and it affects the temps and humidity. I'll be heading up to Kennedy Meadows again, for some cool relief, next week, when it's still supposed to be in the 90s at my house but in the 60s up there at 6,000 ft.

I keep hearing on the news all these dread predictions of torrential rains from an El Nino that is suppose to affect California this Winter.

From one extreme to the other

White $hit is coming. We are 20 degrees colder today than this past Monday. Another wave of cold air will move in Friday and Saturday, bringing temperatures cold enough for wet snow up north. We had to cancel an MGA color tour for Saturday as the 'high' will be in the 40s.

The peaks in the San Juan Mountains in the Four Corners were apparently already covered with snow a few days ago. We are hoping for a heavy snow pack this winter. And so are Californians -- and farmers in South TX.
