The Vintage Weather Thread
I had about 4" of snow in the driveway yesterday morning when I left for work. By the time I got home it was 3" of heavy slush. Can't snow blow it, and sure as hell won't shovel 500' of the stuff. Now I'm screwed because the temps are going to be below freezing for the foreseeable future. It is like driving on rocks.
Here we go again! Will this be the third time they cry wolf, or do I need to make sure the snowblower is working? 13"-20" predicted between today and tomorrow.
Edit: They have already backed it down to 1"-6"
New Year's resolution: Stop looking at weather reports.

Just got to experience that. Fire alarm went off about an hour ago and 200+ people had to exit the building and stand in the parking lot for 40 minutes waiting for the fire department to give the "all clear." Turns out one of our per diem employees brought his son to work today. Curious kid pulled one of the fireboxes. I'm betting that management is not too happy.
Well that sucked! Took an hour to travel my usual 20 minute commute. 10 minutes of that was a single intersection. Had an ambulance with lights and siren on stuck behind me with no where to go. I don't think I got above 18 mph the whole trip. Snow coming down fast enough that everybody's windows and lights were covered over. Supposed to clear up about noon and then start all over again for the evening commute.
If you live near Sacramento aren't you getting heavy rain today? BTW, my daughter lives in West Sacramento and is a zookeeper at the Sacramento Zoo. We in southern California are supposed to get the rain tonight.
