The Vintage Weather Thread
Wife called, no power at home. News is now reporting 21,000 40,000 without power and a train derailment, and several semis on their sides thought to be wind related. And...here I am at work and we still have power...sigh.
You are beating us, we have 33,000 without power but the worst winds are suppose to hit in about an hour. We have large trees (mostly very tall pines that act like a sail and the roots are pulled out of the ground) on top of houses all over the place.
We got lucky! Small branches all over the yard and roof tops with only a couple of reboots with the electricity. Peak wind was 62 mph in our area. What was different from past wind storms was it last about 7 hours. Thankfully, for us, this wind storm wasn't as bad as the last one that tore thru the neighborhood a few years back. Other nearby areas did not do as well.
