The Vintage Weather Thread
Snow was cancelled; and now it is just some rain. We spent a good 3 hours repeatedly filling the lawn trailer behind the John Deere with small branches that covered the yard. Everything's back to normal - at the house, that is.
Power is still out here. Latest estimate is we will be back in service at 10pm tonight. (Would be nice as temps are going into the single digits overnight.)
I don't know how we would manage without the generator. I've been running it in the evenings when we are home from work. Been able to run the furnace, refrigerator, and a light and TV in the living room. Broke out the old camp stove and had a hot meal last night. Glad we hooked up to public water a few years back. Hot showers are nice.

UHOH...big snowstorm (blizzard?) coming Tues/Wed for us and parts north to NE. Hoping it changes, but the forecast is for total of 10-16" here in the DC area. The really bad part is the damage to spring flowers that is probably going to happen from the cold/windy weather we are having today through late next week. The cherry blossoms are almost completely out and prediction was for peak bloom next week. That got pushed back five days, but it's not looking good for a nice bloom this year.

It's pretty miserable out there today. Gusty winds, weather on phone says 21 degrees feels like 6 degrees. One errand to run later an early dinner while we are out then coming home to stay warm. Not looking forward to the storm on Tuesday. Right now 5-8" predicted, Winds gusting to 50 mph.
We may dodge the major bullet. Our snow total for Tues has been downgraded to 1-4", which is big improvement. Looks like we are on the snow/rain line now instead of all snow.
Still will be windy and cold, though, until next Fri.
